Whitewater Creek Hunting Club Rules

2007-2008

1.     All Dues shall be paid no later than August 15th to assure your membership spot. If dues are not paid the next qualified applicant upon a list of names will be contacted and offered the spot.

Note: The reason for this rule is to assure that the landowners will be paid well before season begins.

2.     Each member shall buy two 50 lb. bags of winter food plot seed and two bags of triple 13 fertilizer on or before September 1st.

3.     Any fixed position stand that is put up on the leased land shall be welcome for any member to hunt. All members shall hunt for the enjoyment and to fellowship with others, not to claim a certain area of the leased land for themselves. We should strive to have a hunting club with a family atmosphere.

4.     All hunters shall tag in before the hunt and tag out when the hunt is over. No tags shall be put on the board the night before the hunt. The tag system is used for our safety, and used to keep your hunt from being disturbed by other hunters.

5.     Each buck shot shall have six points or better. No spikes will be allowed to be shot with the exception of children that have never shot a deer. If you need meat we encourage you to shoot a doe. No Does shall be shot the last three weeks of season. There is no limit on how many does you can shoot unless otherwise specified by state hunting laws or President. Although button bucks are hard to identify, please make sure all young deer that are taken are not button bucks. Note: There will be a 100.00 fine for spikes that are shot or anything above the hairline that is not a six point or better.

6.     There will be no drinking while hunting and no foul language. Please be respectful if you do drink after you hunt and drinking around others, but absolutely no drinking while hunting. A lot of members have a wife and kids that hunt with them and we want to make this club a Family oriented club.

7.     All gates shall be shut and locked after leaving hunting area.

8.     All visitors shall pay a 15.00 for one full day of hunting. This money and any fines that are paid will be used to buy food plot seed for the summer and following fall, also material for stands or equipment for the club. No visitors for the first or last 2 weeks of gun season. All visitors must be accompanied by a paid member. Members are responsible for their visitors. Note: The same visitor may not be brought no more than 3 times.

9.     Each deer or turkey shall be recorded in harvest buck with approximate age and weight and specify how many points it has. Date of harvest shall be recorded also.

10.        If your hunting location that you have selected requires going past another hunter you must do so by 6:30 am or by daylight for the morning hunt and 3 pm for the evening hunt. Always be respectful while selecting your location.

11.       There shall be no pouring out of corn during deer or turkey season. No Hunting over any kind of bait. We will abide by state laws.

12.       No driving across planted fields that have not been harvested, no driving across food plots.

13.        No deer drives will be permitted, unless authorized by President.

14.       All garbage will be removed by the person consuming or using materials from the property after each hunt.

15.       Use of 4 wheelers is acceptable (NO PLAYING).  Common sense is the rule. No riding during hunting times except to get to point NEAR stand area for hunting then walk to stand or to retrieve downed game. If you shoot a deer in early morning hours or early evening hours please be respectful of the other hunters in the area and wait until a reasonable time to retrieve your game to prevent from messing up other hunters.

16.       Any member not renewing membership with the Club must remove all personal property (gear, tree stands, ect.) from Club lands by March 15th.

17.       There will be no crowding allowed. With the exception of hunting food plots, no one shall hunt within 150 yards or in line of sight of another person. If anybody is hunting around you, do not leave your stand until hunting time is over. For safety reasons, do not go walking around at any time during hunting times.

18.       Because there is a lot of moving around while turkey hunting, please allow minimum 150-200 acres per hunter hunting depending on how many people are hunting. Before anyone begins their hunt, they should find out where others are hunting and respect their areas. We do not want 2 people calling to each other.

19.       No one shall drive any vehicle (truck, ATV, ect.) through a food plot. Some food plots have roads going along the side of them so please stay on the road or trail.

20.        Safety is important here. You will wear your hunter orange when gun hunting.  After you get up your stand you may remove it above 12' as state law allows.  You will identify your deer and know what you are shooting before you shoot, keeping in mind where others are and where houses are.  You must be at least 50 yards from any road or highway.  A hunter orange hat is all that is required here.

21.       These rules are subject to change with verbal notice given to club members at anytime a change becomes necessary for reasons of law, safety, or someone’s request or concern by the President of a problem.  Remember we are here to have a safe hunting environment and family atmosphere.
