Hello everyone. With deer season gone I guess we can get a little rest before going after those longbeards. I hope everyone had a great deer season. As I was thinking about writing this blog I thought about the deer seasons that have come and gone in the past. I managed to kill a doe, a 6 point, and an 8 point for the 2007-2008 season, but as I think back to the seasons in the past I am reminded that every season does not end with a harvest of a deer. I can remember a few years ago joining a lease in Butler and Wilcox counties and ending the season with nothing. It was not because they were not any deer there. I seen some smaller bucks that year and had some close calls, but never closed the deal. I could sit here and rattle on about all the money I spent on gas, the money I spent on the lease, and all the time I put in and just call it wasted, but I am not. Some times we do get conned into thinking about all the time and money we spend during hunting season. (Sometimes we are reminded by our wives to.) But what I think about most are the memories that were made during that season. Like the time me and Katlyn (my oldest daughter) were walking in a cutover that year in Butler County and jumped a buck, but never got a shot. Like the time I carried Katlyn and Kloe (my youngest daughter) and the ladder broke on the shooting house and I fell flat on my back. (Its funny now, but it wasn’t then) I could go on and on about all the memories that were made while I was hunting and spending time with family. I am here to tell you, when it gets to were all you think about is the time and the money that you just wasted during your hunting season it is time to find another hobby. It is more than killing deer, turkey, or whatever you may be hunting. It is about the memories that we will always remember, the sunrises coming over the trees as you sit in the stand in a frosty cutover or field, and the gobble you hear at the crack of day. I am just so thankful for God’s Creation and how he has allowed me to enjoy it.
I can say that some of my best quiet times spent with God have been sitting in the woods hunting. I can remember a couple of times this year that I have had deer interrupt me while I was reading my daily devotion. I would like to challenge everyone when you are out in the woods or outdoors whether it be fishing or hunting to remember thank God for what he has allowed us to enjoy. I guess it is because I love the outdoors so much, but some of the best times that are spent with my family are in the outdoors. I hope you all had a great deer season, but most of all I hope you captured memories that you will never forget. Remember, memories are priceless. As I close I would like to ask all of you a couple of questions. Did you capture any memories while you were in the woods this season? Did you stop once to thank God for his creation? I hope and pray that you did.
I can say that I definitely captured memories here at Whitewater Creek.
Thank you Lord for all the memories you have blessed me with this deer season. Amen
Take care everyone, and God Bless

Hello everyone. I hope this blog finds you all doing well. By now most of us have completed your Christmas shopping hopefully. A lot of us looking forward to the time we all have off for Christmas. If you sit back and think about it, a lot of us are to busy rushing here and there, trying to find that gift for this and that until we just totally miss the true meaning of Christmas. We all are guilty of it, but we do not realize it until Christmas has come and gone. Me and my wife make it a point each year to tell and constantly remind our children of the true meaning of Christmas which is the Birth of Jesus Christ. A child that was born to die for our sins so that we could have eternal life if we accept him as our Lord and savior.
It is my prayer that each of you that read this knows the true meaning of Christmas so that our children will not get so focused on gifts and Santa, but know that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.
Below is a poem that I was inspired to write when I re-dedicated my life to Christ in the beginning of 2002. I hope you all enjoy what God inspired me to write. Take care and God Bless and may you start your year off by going to the Lord in prayer and becoming a better man.
“When I Am In My Stand”
There are several things I think about when I am in my stand
I think of God, I think of how I can become a better man
When I am in the stand I often go to the Lord in prayer
I pray for family and friends, I thank him for allowing me to be there
You see there seems to be something special about going to the Lord in prayer
Because when I am not successful in my hunt I do not seem to care
When I am in my stand there is no thought of bills nor the sound of a ringing phone
I just simply thank God for this special time in the my stand alone
When I am in my stand I thank God for the beautiful sounds that I hear
The sounds of a distant hoot owl, the sounds of approaching deer
So you see when I am in my stand I have a lot to be thankful for
When I am in my stand I could not ask for more
So may God bless you when you are in your stand and
May you go to the Lord in Prayer and become a better man

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Take care and God Bless…
Hello to everyone. I would like to say thanks to all the members, visitors, friends, and my family for visiting the sight. I also would like to thank all of you who have given such positive feedback and comments that have inspired me to continue improvement to the site.
As I right this blog I am away from home at work offshore. It sure is tough being out here away from my family, but it is also tough watching all of these cold fronts come through. I find myself constantly watching the weather channel and looking to see what the temps are at home. Sometimes I sit daydreaming of sitting in a stand when I see the temperature in the low 30’s back at home. It sure would be nice to be writing this blog while I was sitting in the stand somewhere on Whitewater Creek.
I did get to spend a good bit of time in the woods bow hunting while I was off of work this past time. Most of the deer that I was seeing were moving between 8am and 9am. Nothing I saw presented a shot except small bucks that needing a couple of more years of growing. Congratulations to those who managed to take one with there bows. We finished up the bow season killing one 8 point and two does. Talking to some of the members, there have been a few small bucks seen, but no shooters.
I hope everyone is enjoying the club so far. I also hope to see some of our children harvest some deer which I have not seen so far. We are still continuing to put stands in various places on the club, and we will continue to improve as we go. This being our first year we can not expect to have everything just like we want it, so please be patient. I know that the timber that has been cut has been a disappointment to some of us, but I hope we will all try to look at the positive side of these cutovers. These cutovers will be prime habitat in the coming years and will be a great place to sit as you watch the morning frost slowly melt as the sun begins to come up over the trees. I believe we are well on our way to becoming a great club. I hope that we will continue to work together in making Whitewater Creek a great place to bring our families to enjoy what God has created. I hope it is everyone’s goal to make Whitewater Creek a family hunting and outdoor atmosphere.
I would like to thank all the members of the club for their patience and all the help in getting this club started. I would like to also thank all the visitors that have visited the website. If you have any questions about the club please email me. I hope you all have a great Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Take care and God Bless.
